Metal taste in mouth? What is this?

I am going to the dentist todayyyyy! I have had this metal taste on and off for about 7 months. It will go and then come back. I have it so strong when I wake up. I can still taste other food, but have had it more for a week now. Now, I was supplementing with Zinc, and noticed it more after that, but I stopped zinc about 3 days ago and still have it. Is it possible that taking the zinc made my body realize it's deficient?

I also have two dark fillings, I think they are metal. They don't hurt or anything.

I was going to suggest the same thing. I have "metal mouth" too, for the moment. I don't think I'm in ketosis though, my carbs are too high (between 40-75g per day).

May I ask why you're supplementing with Zinc?

I don't think your body would tell you you're zinc deficient if you're supplementing it... i would say it's either something with the metal fillings (usually is, especially if it's mercury based) or it could be your body is getting an overdose of zinc. I would give it a couple days more for your body to flush out any excess zinc it may have..

A sinus infection? especially if you have it really strongly when you wake up... also, I had it when I was in the worst stages of anemia. Maybe your iron levels are wacky.
