So, yesterday I ate a ton of yucca, and while I boiled it for a long time, there remained some white spots and tougher bits, so I'm wondering if I inadvertently ate a bit too much cyanide. I definitely smelled bitter almonds during the cooking process. Does anyone who messes with yucca know how to tell if it's is sufficiently cooked? I've also heard it contains saponins, which could be a problem. I'm also wondering if yucca has any kind of aphrodisiac quality... no reason.
