Recurring balanitis and coating on tongue?

Hi guys I can't seem to fight off this problem I'm having. I've been strict Paleo for a long time except for alcohol(which I've eliminated now as well), which makes my symptoms flare up. Anyway here are my symptoms:

-Can't tolerate fruit at all, causes my tongue to turn yellow and my symptoms flare up

-Alcohol, turns my tongue yellow and causes my symptoms to flare up

-recurring balanitis(not very serious, just a little red, which I couldn't rid with an anti fungal cream), flares up from alcohol or fruit

-starches cause my tongue to become more furry than normal and instead of a yellow coating, I get a thicker white coating, what can this mean?

-acne which flares up from alcohol and fruit(face itches) but nothing noticeable from starch

-starches may have actually improved my balanitis a little bit but I can't seem to tell

-Probiotics seem to have a neutral effect but the more I eat the less of a white tongue I have when eating starch, it seems I sneeze when I eat probiotics

-garlic and peppermint oil caused my tongue to become very thick yellow and acne flared up while balanitis was neutral

I'm not sure of what to do, this is a persisting problem even though I have been strict Paleo for a long time. I take probiotics in pill form and also have raw sauerkraut and kimchi that I eat.

Does anyone have any idea of what I can do? I was thinking about getting a DNA Stool Analysis to get specifics but it's so darn expensive.

Thanks!

For diabetes symptoms could be be extreme thirst, weight-loss, dry skin, excessive urination, headaches, nausea etc

Hmm, maybe look into fructose malabsorption? The Primal Parent blog has info on that.

I think you should eat starch if it makes you feel better (I would if I wasn't T2D). Just something to be aware of - thrush feeds off of sugar in your excretions.

I'm only 18 and honestly I feel that upping my starch intake makes me feel better. I zero carbed for a month and didn't notice any improvements. Is there any other symptoms to look for?

I suggest you read one of the books by Dr. Crook, the expert on systemic Candida infections. It sounds like you have the classic symptoms. Going ZC should have shown some improvement but perhaps you need to go zero carb for a bit longer?

Otherwise, ... see a doctor. He/she might want to get culture tests for what is growing on your tongue and penis (, presumably they are the same pathogen). You will be prescribed an antibiotic or antifungal med, and your problem should go away. But I fear your problem might come back unless you learn to adhere to a low carb diet for a very long period (a year or more) and start taking probiotics (..homemade yogurt or sauerkraut would be good too).

I have had Balanitis off and on for about two years, keeping it at bay with Surgel cream (believe it, the stuff really works). However, Suragel wasn't curing it 100%. My tongue was always a yellow color that I could not get rid of. I went on a strict Candida diet for about two weeks last Aigust and (although my tongue was no longer yellow) the balanitis did not go away and skin was very dry in that area. I kept cutting out all red meat & alcohol since then and laid off all the probiotics, raw kraut, etc.. Acid Reflux came on about then too, so bad I thought I had a lump in my throat. A few months later I started to have some upper right abdominal pains so I finally went to a new doctor (board certified internist). Besides routine blood work and abdominal ultrasound (which were both normal sans high cholesterol and slightly elevated ferritin) he tested me for celiac disease (negative) and a SIBO Breath Test (w/ Lactulose, not lactose). The SIBO Breath Test came back positive for bacteria overgrowth. A few weeks ago my tongue started to turn white again. I am about to go on a heavy round of antibiotics for two weeks and likely a Fodmap diet afterwards. Moral: Go get a breath test for SIBO and blood work if you can. I am willing to bet all your problems begin and end in your gut.

Are you sure you don't just have geographic tongue? It's common and benign.

Also Grapefruit Seed extract to kill yeast ....

Take probiotics at bedtime without food ....

Things to consider:

white coating on your tongue MAYBE a sign of low stomach acid, poor/sluggish digestion, bacteria presence, etc.

I agree with Autumn. Recurring balanitis is a tell-tale sign of diabetes. You should get your self checked by a physician. I had constant balanitis for about 6 months before I was diagnosed. As soon as I started low-carbing it went away forever.

Seems like you have a reaction to sugars, maybe look into the FODMAPS diet.
