My eggs turned green when they touched my sauerkraut!

Is this normal?!

Actually under good light looks kinda black/blue.

I cooked liver in butter with garlic and onion powder and had pretty much ate all that. Threw scrambled eggs with the yolks mostly raw on the plate and then a hunk of sauerkraut. As I was eating the eggs touching the sauerkraut juices changed colors before my eyes.

I ate most of it but avoided the border of the two foods.

Two questions: What happened? Will I live?

Most likely correct, just too snarky.

Before you act facetious, actually make sure that the WDIGTFY link actually answers the OP's question. Which it doesn't.

Eggs have iron and your sauerkraut probably has some hydrogen sulfide (that's probably not a good thing, it's toxic). It's simple chemistry from there Fe + S => black iron sulfides.
