I'm a twenty year old female who has been fairly strict paleo for about 6 months. I do tend to eat more carbs than a lot of people out there, but I still mostly to whole foods and try to stick to good carbs like sweet potatoes which help regulate blood sugar. Anyways, I'm 5'5" and weigh approximately 120 lbs, most days I eat around 1500 calories (this maintains my weight) and I try to walk at least 15km a week. ANYWAYS, the last few months I think I have stopped ovulating, I no longer seem to produce any CM during my cycle and my cramps have been irregular, starting a week before my actual period starts. I was wondering if any other women had similar experiences and if so is there anything they did to fix it? I don't want to mess up my cycle and have fertility problems a few years down the road.

I stopped ovulating and lost my period for over a year but then again I was VLC (30g/day) for 6 months and then LC (50g/day) for another 6. More cals and carbs brought my periods back quickly
- how much carbs are you eating? (g/d)
- 120 pounds, 5'5'', 1500 cals a day - what's your bodyfat percentage? Have you lost fat on paleo. Myself, if I drop below about 110 or 105 pounds I will lose my periods regardless of how many carbs I'm eating (I'm 5'1'') - my body seems to have a minimum body fat % at which it will have normal menstrual function (I lost my periods before when I was 17 because I lost weight, and I was eating lots of carbs then)
- if you're still having periods, I would guess that you're still ovulating. If you really want to know, track your period (using a smartphone app if you can) and look at your discharge during the time that you should be ovulating - it should be clear (not white and stretchy. You can also monitor your temperature if you want to get really fernickety. Oh, and most women experience an increase in sex drive around ovulation too, plus sometimes redder lips, better skin, fuller hair etc; I know I do
If you really have stopped ovulating, then....eat more. 1700 cals, 70+g carbs
