red wine and health

I know red wine is not paleo being both processed and a toxin but I was wondering what the general consensus is regarding just how bad it is for you.

Me and my girlfriend are both low income workers and we rarely eat out, neither of us smoke or use recreational drugs. We do however like to have nice little romantic nights in.

Typically an old film, some red wine and an awesome ( now paleo only) meal.

What would you class as an appropriate amount of wine to have a week while still being healthy?

I ask because I get a huge discount on wine from my uncle who is a supplier and I can end up getting about 25 bottles of red wine for about 18 pounds.

We are a poor couple and we don't do a lot of extravagant stuff but we do love our nerdy old film nights and our sunday dinner nights followed by some board games etc.

Will we really need to cut the wine out to be truly healthy and if not how much would be a recommendation per person per week?

I feel a glass of Organic wine would be good which have limited chemical sprays sulfites and additives.

It may not be properly Paleo but it is ancestral. I'd recommend limiting it to a glass with some kind of snack such as hazelnuts, cheese or smoked fish. Or with a full meal. A glass of wine slows down full-tilt eating.
