Could be a life changing experience.

I'm with you there. I grew up commune style, no need for me to live in the woods for a year.. done that, and always had books handy to the point where my parents would yell at me to hand them over and get outside in the mud. Give me books or give me death! And.. BURGESS MEREDITH aka The Penguin?!?! Plus a million @CHM

My thoughts exactly. Who wants my mortgage? Anyone? Bueller?

Nice reference :) I hope you don't wear eyeglasses though, it would be a shame if you had all the time in the world to read and couldn't see the type!

Color me overcivilized, but I can't imagine not having books for a year. When everything devolves to cannibalism and flaming cars, and all my neighbors are warring over the pharmacies, I'll be right there with Burgess Meredith pillaging the university libraries.

Goodness yes! That sounds like an incredible learning experience. Now if I could just find someone to pay my mortgage while I'm gone, I'll be all set. Any takers? ;)

I would do that without blinking an eye! Would be one hell of a learning experience for sure, the trappings of civilization are easily shed to live as Nature intended.
