For those who have done the Whole30 challenge...

What did you do on day 31 -- OK maybe not just day 31---but what did you do AFTER the 30days were over? Did you stick to the same plan -- did you add more strachy stuff-- did you add diary back in etc..

Would like to here your experiences..

Oh, just a handful of macadamias here and there. Not every day, but maybe every other day. I usually have them at work and bring a very small amount, so I don't have to worry about going crazy on them.

How about Nuts? That is one of my trigger foods-- can't just eat a handful and be done --so I have been tryingto avoid them

I've been eating very little fruit; maybe a handful of blueberries and a clementine a couple times a week. Ryan has more fruit than I do, a few bananas in addition to the berries/clementines. My feeling is that during the challenge, I don't want to have anything that might give me cravings for sweet foods. And it's been working, can't say I feel I am missing anything.

Did u guys eat any fruit? My fruit intake is normally low -- I think I may have some fructose issues --so I avoid it.

Thanks! But I am no where near the end of the 30days-- I was just wondering about other people's experiences on it.

Short answer: Nothing. We did a 60 day Paleo at my CF program. It ended 4 days ago. We were allowed 4 cheats during the 60 days. I had one - feta and olives - I just couldn't resist. On day 61 and beyond, I ate just like I had been, without "cheating" (I don't like that term either, as some have mentioned). I did kind of smile (to myself) when some of my CF friends complained about feeling yucky on day 62 after pizza and beer on day 61. Eating Paleo for me is a lifestyle change. I'm sure I'll continue to have "off Paleo" food now and then, but I can't imagine much of that. I'm just feeling to good - alive and energetic. Of course, it doesn't hurt that I've lost 115 pounds so far either.

I indulge (cheating sounds so negative) in a small piece of dark chocolate after most meals. If a group is going out for say sushi: I'll have some rice or if they're having mexican I may have some beans. It doesn't change the fact that I'm gonna eat as 'clean' as practical. I'm 65 days in and cannot believe the difference both physically, mentally and emotionally. I wish I did this 35 years ago.

I have done an elimination diet / stricter Paleo diet for 30 days before. My opinion is not to add everything back in at once or you won't really know what affected you if you see any changes. Add back in first what you missed the most. In my case, that would be dairy and booze. Add something back in every two weeks or longer if you can handle it. I think you can have sweet potatoes on the Whole 30, so I don't know what other starches you would like to have again. Just add things slowly and watch how your body reacts.

We are on day 25 of our Challenge (which we are doing for 45 rather than 30 days). I've been creating weekly meal plans to make sure that we always have a plan for eating good foods - and always have them available. My boyfriend has been creating our weekly workout plans as well. This morning we were just discussing what we should do on day 46 - and decided we will just start over using our plans from week 1! It just feels so good right now, I don't want to mess with a good thing.

I suspect once we are officially out of Challenge mode, we may consider a dinner out - but my thought is that my 'cheat/treat' will be to eat 'primal' rather than strict paleo (for me that means indulging in dairy - I've got my eye on a cream based butternut squash soup at a favorite restaurant!)

We finished whole9 30 2 weeks ago, since then we have added ghee and a small amount of heavy cream with no issue. Had a yam once and it was almost too sweet tasting for me. Would like to add back a tiny bit of cheese,..but not sure which ones are best. Very happy with my 22 lbs weight loss in 6 weeks - 50 more to go!

I am on my fourth day :) I was eating Paleo before, but kind of fell of the wagon with too much dark chocolate, fruits and dairy. So I decided Whole30 is a perfect way to get back on the right path.

I plan on more or less staying the same, but try dairy to see if I have any body reaction. I might eat a fruit now and then, or a piece of chocolate, but in general want to stay on almost 100% Whole30 way.

After my whole30 i went off the deep end at a wedding and I can tell you i discovered what are my inflammation trigger points.... no doubt I should give up drinking it sent my arthritis through the roof. Gluten es no Bueno either and I notice my trigger foods with greater sensitivity.

Dairy is meh... I try to only consume raw dairy sparingly and I use a touch of whole cream in my coffee and feel fine.

I think a whole30 or something like it every quarter is a great way to stay on track long term... after eating a pizza and having two pints of beer I wanted commit Japanese ritual suicide. whole30 plus one should be the gradual inclusion of foods you love that don't make you feel crappy.
