Anyone want to get in on this Facebook wheat debate?

Over at 100 Days of of Real Food on Facebook I am debating why wheat shouldn't be included as a "Real Food". The page's moderator has said in response:

"Yes, I am familiar with Wheat Belly and our opinion is that unless you have an allergy or intolerance to gluten there's no reason to avoid whole-wheat products. And based on a recent Q&A with Michael Pollan (in NYTimes) he agrees. Everyone is certainly entitled to their own opinion though!"

Olive oil is also processed. Is that real food? Yes. Bacon is processed too... Uh oh!

Well, it can't be called a "real food" anyway because wheat flour (as it's commonly ingested) is processed. No way around that one.

All I see is someone making an absolutist statement (you) and someone making a careful and conservative statement (moderator).

Let them be!!!!!!! there are people out there that truly believe that its Ok - someone only just told me it was fine to be fat as long as you were healthy!!!??? - there is no convincing them. Just as there is no convincing me that wheat is good for you!

If they had 1,000,000 people ready to jump on your page and tell you that wheat is the healthiest thing on the planet, would that change your mind?
