Is anyone here a client of Wellnessfx? What is your experience?

They are coming to my gym and it sounds like they take blood, have their doctors analyze it and give you a plan of action and encourage you to take some supplements. I just wanted to know if anyone has had a good experience or if I would be throwing my money away.

Thanks for any insight you can give me!

I appreciate your answer, Zak. I wasn't familiar with wellnessfx so I visited the corporate website. Love the work you are doing, the apparent passion of the relatively small team, and love the technology you're using to do it. (Particularly impressed to see you're using Ruby on Rails, in a test driven Agile environment.)

Hey Anja, I caveat all I say here with "I am the business development/sales guy at WellnessFX" however I saw your post and noticed no-one had replied so thought I would have a shot at it. Yes we do take your blood and we have expert practitioners provide you with personalized recommendations based on the results. For the most part the recommendations that you receive will be nutrition focussed and more often than not supplements are recommended if you are not getting the right combination of foods and nutrition in your diet - for example some people (like me) don't metabolize folates very well, so it is next to impossible for that individual to eat enough to provide them with an optimal levels, so supplementing this vitamin is pretty important - I do so via an all wholefoods, raw and natural supplement that was recommended by my functional nutritionist.

However, I would suggest talking with some of the trainers at your box - it is likely that they are already in the product and have an unbiased perspective. There is a reason why they have us coming in - we are providing their members with convenient access (we draw your blood at the box) and relatively low cost access to some of the most advanced and predictive diagnostics currently available. To get an overview review this video and hear some of the leaders in the CrossFit community: http://youtu.be/3BHh3hbWUaI

I would also check out one of our guests posts from a CrossFit athlete who wrote a couple of blog posts on her experience that we picked up and reposted: http://blog.wellnessfx.com/2012/03/16/guest-post-wellnessfx-product-experience-from-kristin-newmancs/

Finally, on a personal note, I myself am a CrossFit athlete, am also highly focussed on my own personal health (paleo, supplements, mobility, strength conditioning...) and would not know what to do if I didn't have WellnessFX (part of the reason I joined the company). From a health perspective I would feel somewhat blind without it.

I hope that this helps. If you want to chat with me in person ping me on twitter @zakholdsworth and I'll send you a number so we can discuss in person.

Cheers Zak

WellnessFX may have saved my life. It certainly improved my health and fitness. I learned that I had a genetic issue and store too much iron which can lead to liver failure but, by knowing now, I can easily manage. Most people don't learn about such issues until the damage is done and it is too late. I know many people using WellnessFX and everyone has found a serious issue to manage as well as numerous health components that can be optimized.

Eating Paleo is reflected in my perfect blood sugar results. This validates the Paleo diet for me. I learned that I needed to double my vitamin D consumption to get within the very protective range. Also, I wasn't taking nearly enough fish oil to deal with training related inflammation

Without scientific data and feedback, I'd just be randomly consuming stuff and getting completely random results.

After coordinating WellnessFX, Paleo and CrossFit, I've won some endurance competitions against athletes 20 years younger. My body chemistry today is better than it was when I was 25 years younger.
