How soon do you realistically see results on strict paleo?

I am new to being strict paleo -- no dairy. Felt an increase in energy right away. Cut all sugars and glutens 2 months ago. Lost 10 lbs. Took a 3 week trip and gained back 6 lbs. Now, I have lost 1 lb. on paleo in one week. What is a realistic time frame to see more results? I am 5 foot 2 and weigh 129. Used to weigh 115. I do exercise 1/2 hour a day.

Yes. Tried to keep it low but...Italy? Now I eat protein veggies, oils and nuts and small amount of fruit -- under 30 carbs a day. Tomato is in my diet. And small amount of avocado which I just cut to 1/4 a day. Probably need to cut it more -- was eating 1/2 a day. Realized I had lots of onion too. What veggies did you stick to?

Calorie counting sounds more extreme than what i did, it was more like mindfulness of my calorie consumption.

I'm about your size - and have been losing 0-2 lbs a week. 0, ya its funny, but some weeks i just stay the same weight or even gain some, which is totally normal. The most i have lost is 2 lbs a week but that was with regular work outs and calorie counting. Now that im more lax with both the weight is naturally coming off slower.

Depends what results are you looking for. Depends on what kind of exercise you are doing. Depends on your calorie intake. Depends on your sleep.

Paleo is more about health, than losing weight. But whatever your results are they will come. Just stick to it and enjoy the never ending journey :)

Agree with whoreball...it totally depends on your goals, exercise, sleep, metabolic status, etc...It takes 6 months for the inflammatory effects of gluten to completely leave your system. Each time you consume gluten, you reset that clock. Gluten for some people leads to serious gut permeability so this is the question about your metabolic status. Do you have gut homeostasis. I would venture to guess, no. So your gut is needing to heal. There are lots of variables at play here. Just like Whoreball said, Paleo is not just about weight loss, although many people have achieved significant weight loss with Paleo, it is about overall health and well being. Strive for that first and the rest will fall into place. I would strongly recommend reading It Starts With Food by Dallas & Melissa Hartwig to really understand what is happening with your system and what you want to happen and then this will all make sense. Then weight loss will be a much easier thing to get to.

I ate strictly (just protein, veggies, oils and nuts) for 4 weeks and lost 16lb, 12 came off in q couple of weeks, the rest slower, and I believe I would have carried on losing but I fell off the wagon and have put some back on instead

But I couldn't realistically have kept up being that strict for ever, I was almost delirious at being able to add in tomatoes and carrots after a month (was following low sugar too)

Did you eat carbs on your tri paway?
