[meta]Should we close questions pertaining to weight loss.

These questions seem to pop up with a disturbingly high frequency on this website. It almost seems as though paleohacks is operating in conjunction to a weight watchers type deal. Don't get me wrong, it's not that I don't have any sort of sympathy for the problem, it's just that it is a problem, a real problem, and I think doctor's (either therapists or medical physicians or a combination there of) are the one's that should be addressing their questions and concerns...not just everyday people on the internet who come to this site to hack PALEO scenarios (losing weight is not paleo).

This is a serious question and I would just like to hear your thoughts on the matter, if you have any at all.

Sorry alligator but I was with Lumifer on those "shallow" questions. I also doubt this was Lumifer because paleo9976 posted some stupid and terribly spelled comments /answer on one of my questions.

I don't if anyone cares or this even matters, but Lumifer is the one who trolled my most recent other two questions in the exact same way, so I suspect he/she is also the one who created this fake account to troll my my most recent.

binge eating is a DISORDER. weight loss is a goal (for some). Very poor attempt at a troll. Eff minus.

Sounds like cutting your nose off to spite your face. Obesity is a huge epidemic. I feel like we should encourage newbies who post weight loss questions on here (regardless of how redundant or how often they have been asked previously).

Losing weight is about being healthy and creating a healthy, happy body. That's how I view what Paleo is about too. So how are they different?

I am doing Paleo to lose weight first and formost. It's a wonderful plus that this WOE is so healthy.

Also, way to jack an earlier question and not be creative!

Have you seen the stats on how many people would benefit from losing some--a little or a lot--body fat? Are you suggesting we diss a third to a half of all those experimenting with this lifestyle? That they can follow our model, but we don't want to hear about their most pressing issue in life?

We can give reasonable pointers and cautions about getting too wrapped up in the weight loss side and thereby provide a service to some of our newest community members.

It's "not paleo" to decide that only an elite minority qualify for membership.

Of course Paleo is about weight loss, to some people.

Ya great idea..."doctor's (either therapists or medical physicians or a combination there of) are the one's that should be addressing their questions and concerns".

...look at where that has gotten our society so far

Can you please stop mimicking my questions? You have done this to TWO others of mine (that I know of).

Weight loss and binge eating are in entirely different categories. It would have been more appropriate if you had written "Anorexia" instead of weight loss, but you may not have the mental faculties to realize that it's more analogous.
