Citrus and Delayed Weight Loss

I've been VLC Paleo for 6 weeks. I was already gluten and dairy free. I am also practicing IF -- my eating window is 2pm to 8pm. I was excited to weigh myself after the first 4 weeks, expecting some fabulous weight loss results. I lost 4 pounds. I am extremely overweight, so you can imagine that after reading all these, "I lost an incredible amount of weight in just a few weeks" stories, one pound a week was a bit of a let down after all my hard work (although I know that is regarded as a "safe" rate of weight loss.) I mean, I have eyelashes that weigh more than four pounds. At this rate, it's going to take two and a half years before I can shop at Abercrombie & Fitch. :D

I now understand my body is very sensitive to soy, eggs, corn, beans, fruit, nuts, starches, etc. and after cutting these things out I do feel better. But recently I came across a list of foods people are sensitive to and Citrus was on that list. I've been eating an avocado a day, with the juice of 1/2 a lime squeezed over it. Should I cut this out too? Is citrus secretly sabotaging my weight loss? Avocados just aren't the same without a little squeeze of lime juice.

Not sure that a squeeze of lime juice is the problem. Do you exercise? 30 minutes of daily exercise and sunlight in addition to proper vitamin supplementation helped my hubby shed 25 lbs in 2 mos. But I notice that his weight loss is stalled when he stops the daily walk/ sun exposure. He has a desk job and works long hours so maybe not getting outside compounds the stress/ inflammation.

If you are quite obese and quickly switched to a VLC diet, then I would expect you to lose more than 4 lbs. A lot of people will lose 2x that much in just water weight, and continue losing up to 10% of their weight without much trouble.

Could you tell us what you're eating?

my weight loss stalls when I watch what I eat Seriously. If I go hog wild and eat a pure paleo diet with abandon (as much fruits as I want) I feel better and lose more weight than when I watch what I eat. I think cutting out too many things messes up the hormones. I wouldn't cut out citrus fruits.
