You dumb Paloelithic asshole idiots :

WHOLE GRAINS HAVE MORE ANTI-OXIDANT ACTIVITY THAN EVEN FRUITS AND VEGETABLES, YOU FOOLS.

IF YOU HAD ACTUALLY BOTHERED TO RESEARCH THIS INSTEAD OF LISTENING TO INTERNET SALESMEN FRAUDS WHO WANT YOUR MONEY, YOU'D KNOW IT.

BACON is a special meat that is incredibly greasy which causes a grease layer to form on the sides of your intestines and prevents mineral absorption.

Well interestingly enough, the average weight of a human pancreas in the US is more than that of a COW. This is due to processed and factory farmed meat as well as the nitrites and nitrates that are used to treat the commercial meats like BACON.

Why the pancreas? I'm genuinely curious why bacon would be bad for that organ specifically.

I'm lumping gluten in with the antinutrient crowd. The beneficials in grains can be found in other foods that do not have negative reactions in (a portion of) the general population's gut.

Phytic acid, the main "anti-nutrient" in grains actually chelates heavy metals and carries them out of the body. It also protects your colon from cancerous cells and protects you from excess dietary iron.

Grains are not eaten in paleo due to antinutrient concerns. Antioxidants can found in other, less harmful, foods.

Well then, let's see this science.

I am of course an idiot and probably wouldn't even be able to read any of the million studies I'm sure exist showing whole grains are great for you, but I'd love to see some.

Maybe you could even change my paleolithic asshole fool mind!

This might just be the best thread I've seen in my year+ observation of this site. Since adding truly WHOLE organic grains into my diet, my health has only improved and I have lost weight. I'm talking whole organic barley, and einkorn wheat (the original, nutritious, protein packed wheat, not the horribly gluey gluten bred frankenwheat of today). Not to mention you can buy 5 lbs of bulk organic grains for about 15 dollars. NO longer am I buying 15 dollar steaks but saving loads of money by incorporating protein packed whole organic grains. I also have started eating way less meat and still feel great. But you paleo bloggers would never want to hear that you can ditch everyday consumption of meat and still have good health.

Good for you Paleo12, we're glad you found your happy place with grain. Now go start your own site where you can talk to your bloated grain friends, because none of us care about how angry you are that don't eat grain. Also, if you really knew anything about the paleo diet, you would know that when we eat bacon, we seek out high quality uncured bacon that doesn't include nitrites and nitrates. Doy.

Sounds like he/she post above name calling and seething with rage is eating too much grains. Which is killing the gut bacteria which in turn is making them crazy. It's trickle down. I imagine when they get tired of all the rage and name calling, they may decide to cut out grains.
