I am a 72 year old female. I transitioned from a vegan diet to paleo about 2 months ago. Due to a knee injury exercise has been extremely limited. I need to lose about 25 lbs and have gained 5 in the last couple of weeks. I am completely grain and sugar free. I would appreciate any suggestions that may help. I love this diet and it has cured trigger fingers and most joint pain

I am pretty sure after reading a lot of the info here that I've been eating too many carbs.

Figure out what you are eating, you might need to adjust fats vs. carbs vs. protein. Also total calories in vs required to maintain or lose weight. Adding in some easy weight lifting exercises will help with weight loss and preserve or build muscle which is important as we age. Weight loss and maintenance should be independent of exercise, so that if you hurt your knee or whatever you are not adding pounds due to inactivity. Younger healthy people generally can burn it off if they choose until they get hurt and then what ? I lost a good portion of my weight without any exercise as I was so out of shape I didn't want to hurt myself. Once I got going I added in moderate w/o, with easy weight lifts.
