Nobody can really say whether your weight loss will be stalled by nuts, fruit, dairy, or starches. Eliminating some or all of these can be a useful tool for many, but it's only a tool--not magic. I lost all my weight while eating low fat and 300+ g carbs a day--far more than I eat now. Won't say it was a very nutritious diet at all, but I did lose the extra weight and have kept it off effortlessly while eating a drastically different whole foods diet. The best advice is really to self-experiment, starting with the easiest switch, and give each experiment time.

thank you... I was told to drop the fruits and nuts if i wanted to lose more weight. I've been a vegetarian for a year and changed my lifestyle with paleo a month ago. I just cant express how amazing I feel ever since I took that leap. I'm never turning back... I just have some goals I still have to achieve. Not in a rush... I know it will take time, I just need more advice.

Eat the sweet potato, you need it. Let your body be the judge. If you fill your house full of real food you'll be set. Fruit, sweet potatoes, pumpkin, squash, grass-fed meat, vegetables, seafood and even chocolate (min 85%)(the good stuff). Eat till full and stop. You're body will get the signal that it has the amount of nutrients and CALORIES it needs:) And in regards to the nuts I would avoid. Mainly because it appears that it is omega 6s and industrial poisons/toxins that are causing the health wreck on the nation. You may even want some honey/maple syrup. Your glucose stores have room for it and it is full of great nutrients. Stop fearing food. Just eat good food! You're body will start to lose the body fat when there are no longer inflamataries present (i.e. nuts, grains, hormones & antibiotics, corn, white and artificial sugars). Also, you may want to take a few days off of CF. It can be stressful on the body and make you hold onto weight.

Don't avoid sweet potato. Avoid the packaged, processed crap known as 'food'. Feed your body real whole food and you will lose weight. Don't go overboard with the nuts but you can still have some, some nuts are better than others.

Try eating it for six to eight weeks and then not eating it for the same amount of time and see how it's going for you. Which works better for weight loss for you? Only trying it will show you.

Regarding starches and body fat, there is a time and a place for it to actually speed up fat burn. Have a little bit of starch with your protein and veggies in your post workout meal can actually speed up the fat burning process in the mitochondria. That being said, if you're feeling week, or you have headaches, or your stressed: sweet potatoes or any type of squashes are awesome (paleo) starches to have to help you. The key is to not go overboard with it. If you are feeling fine before your workout, I would save your sweet potatoes/squashes/banana(yes, counts as starch) for your post workout meal. When I was training hard, I was so tired that I would eat a big sweet potato for breakfast with my eggs and such. I didn't lose extra fat, but I certainly felt better, which you may need if you're training hard everyday.
