I started doing strict paleo about 6 weeks ago since i really got into crossfit. However I also play football and am working out constantly. Im 18 in very good shape but ever since I started paleo my strength has gone WAY down I constantly feel weak and ive lost like 10lbs. I am the leanest I have ever been and the most conditioned but I need the strength and the weight to perform on the field. Ive gone from a decently lean 5'7 165 could rep on a bench 225x5 multiple sets now I'm 5'7 150 and can barely get 225 once. In the past 2 weeks I got nervouse about this so I started eating some Ezekiel bread with my breakfast every morning. Can anyone plz help with diet suggestion

yeah and eat the eggs whole, egg yolks contain the most nutrients out of the whole egg.

It sounds like you need to eat more. I would incorporate more animal protein throughout the day. You are using a lot of energy in your activities. Looks like your diet is not able to support it.

Agree with Holly. I eat way more than that and I'm not an 18 year old football player. Eat dude, then eat more.

That is really very little food for someone your age, size and with your training schedule. I would stop weighing and measuring food and just eat until you are full. The great thing about paleo and crossfit is that you are training and eating much closer to the way nature intended, so you can just listen to what your body tells you to eat.

I'd start by increasing the amount of meat and sweet potato that you eat and add in some fattier cuts to increase calories

It's possible that you are over reaching. Since adding conditioning (crossfit) your strength is going to take a dip. You have 3 energy system aerobic, lactic, atlactic. You can train them all in a workout but you wont get much of a response (unless you're a newbie) .

You might benefit from spending 4-8 weeks focusing on 1 energy system & low volume maintenance on the other 2 along with your sport training.

Ex. 2 days of strength training (atlactic) 1 day of CF (lactic aerobic) 5-6 days of your sport.

dude - you need WAY more proteins, you're eating too much carb related foods and not enough protein/fat based foods. Keep the yolks, eat about 4 - 6 slices of bacon with that breakfast, and an 8 - 10 oz steak a day.

do the research, you'll find that you need 1g of protein from an animal source per pound that you weigh, that's where you're getting weak. way way too much carb to meat ratio.

about 75% of your body is protein based (organs, tissues, cells, etc) when you're working out so much like that, you're using up all your body fat and you have none left for your body to burn nor to create the essential 20 amino acids so it's taking it away from your muscles as well. EAT MORE MEAT and not the lean meats, saturated fat is good for you, and include the yolk. Trust me on this, try it for two weeks and I promise you, you will notice the difference within days. 4 whole eggs - 6 slices of bacon for breakfast every day with the rest of the stuff you're eating as well as steak/fish/chicken

also do research on how many grams of protein is in these beef/chicken/pork/eggs sources (it's 6g per egg and about 4g per bacon depending on what you get), you need around 150g a day of proteins but don't pull back on the carbs, you're doing fine there, just more meat and egg yolks

more meat, more fats, eat your egg yolks!

im a 30 year old girl that isn't overweight and is under 65 inches and even I eat more :)

also i wouldn't classify ezekiel bread as paleo- you should look up paleo pancakes and make some with coconut flour- they freeze well and are tasty!

I eat about the same as you and I'm 16, 5'0 and 48 kg! (bout 106 pounds) Don't train nearly as much as you either. Carbs, in particular might be more beneficial to you. Try adding some more sweet potato/fruit/potatoes and see if it helps. Eat up mate :)

My god, you need more fat. Keep the yolks in your breakfast and ditch anything "light" or "lite."

I eat more than that and I'm on a weightloss diet. Actually, my wife eats more than that and is on a weightloss diet.

Just sayin'

Also, Metcon + Football = Bad move brother.

If you play football do crossfit football and eat what he recommends. He'll have you back up to snuff in short order.
