losing the last 5-10 lbs without IF

I recently lost 10lbs through lots of cardio, strength training and calorie counting over the summer, but as a result I believed to have overtrained myself into adrenal fatigue and have elevated cortisol levels ( I was losing 1-2lbs a week). The past few weeks I have cut out the cardio (except for 1 HIIT sesssion/week) and only been weight training 3x/week with some long walks and yoga as well. I have also been focusing on more quality sleep and de-stressing.

I am feeling better but my weight has been at a plateau since making all these changes. I eat relatively low carb, 50-75 grams a day, and net about 1500 calories/day, and am currently not eating fruit or nuts. I would try IF but this is not recommended for people with suspected adrenal fatigue.

Any recommendations for losing the last bit of fat without the standard IF protocol? Or has anyone successfully lost using IF without compromising their recovery from adrenal fatigue?

(I am 5'6' 130bs-- I would like to be back down to 123, its where I felt fittest and most comfortable)

I agree, but as vein as it sounds, a big part of feeling good for me means being happy with how my body looks. I am not as lean as I would like to be, so am looking for the right way to get there =)

Sometimes doing the opposite of what you think you should be doing can get you the results you desire. Perhaps more carbs rather than less might work for you.

I don't see the benefit of IF AND Low-carb. IF improves insulin sensitivity etc... because it gives your liver a chance to get glycogen depleted. If you never top up the liver glycogen at all then why bother? Especially if having cortisol issues try upping your carbs to the 100-150gm range, mostly either at night or PWO and then keep up with the IF. Back off on cardio intensity and think brisk walk in the AM fasted. Also watch caffeine if in over-trained state. Your body will never run super-lean on HIT or HIIT when compared to say BB and walking.

If you want to avoid stress and put adrenal fatigue as your priority, you may end up naturally losing a bit of weight as stress hormones go down. But, if you want to make an effort to lose weight while trying to lower stress, those are pretty much at odds with each other.

Don't force yourself to a weight. If you're eating properly and exercising you shouldn't have to worry about weight. Focus on feeling good.
