Is there another +40 Woman out there who wants to lose some extra flesh before summer ends? And do it together?

Hi There, I'm 44, female and would love to join forces with one or two other women on a calorie restricted paleo regime starting around July 8th.

I just got back to Cambridge from traveling where I gained some weight.

I'd love to have some support and accountability and compare notes with other women over 40 since I found my body and food needs changed a lot after that.

For exercise I'm a swimmer/runner/walker w/some sporadic heavy weights.

I'm doing no dairy paleo--trying to stick to an autoimmunity protocol. For myself, I've found the only way I can take off fat is by eating under 1200-1300 calories a day. Others wll be different. I use My Daily Plate and could share notes there or via email.

Is there anyone out there who might be willing to do some co-support via email or blogging to help stick it out?

I totally understand ladyp. I trust that YOU know how many calories it takes YOU personally to lose, not some BMR chart. Exercise is great, nobody is going to argue otherwise but exercise is over-emphasized in weight loss imo. It should be able to be done with the right kinds and amounts of food with no intense exercise as long as you have an active life & are not sitting down the entire day. Lots of overemphasis on exercise here & also a tendency for many here to question someone anytime they say they need less than 1500kcal a day. I personally gain weight on that many calories, period.

Exercise volume is def not too high. It's an ongoing struggle to get it in and I'm a turtle athlete, not hare. Dunno why but trust me, I've tried at 1500 or 1600 and just don't get results.

I'm so sorry for dropping off! Work got crazy busy suddenly so I decided to join the Whole30 posse instead of starting my own. Seems easier--plus I'm not sure how to contact one another without posting contact info, which puts us in the line of those nasty email address prowling web bots! Maybe paleohacks will change this at some point? Or, any ideas? I'm open to corresponding and sharing notes, if so.

I'm 44 and attempting to lose another 30 pounds. I've lost 110 so far. I normally eat fewer calories, fewer than 1500, but right now I'm upping my fat intake.

I'm quite active, walking, biking, and weight lifting. If you would like to compare notes, we sure can. I don't know how to pm you my contact info, though.

I'm 43 and have lost 20 pounds with another 20 to go. I don't track calories currently, although I have in the past. I do a flash food diary using EatWit and estimate percent primal.

10 years ago, I had weight loss surgery and lost 100 pounds. I was able to keep most of it off using low carb/protein power. When I stumbled on Paleo/Primal, it made so much sense. I love the lifestyle, but I'd sure like to drop these last pounds!

I also travel for work every other week. I do pretty well when it comes to eating, but I suspect that the general disruption of my schedule isn't helping my general well-being.

Not sure how to contact you, but I wouldn't mind joining forces!

Ladyp, this is definitely not answering the main question in your post, but I do have a question to ask you.

Why are you saying that you can only lose weight at a 1200-1300 daily caloric intake? Remember if your exercise tempo is too high you could have elevated cortisol levels making it harder for you to lose weight.
