I am starting the Paleo diet and really want this to be a success and drop my weight successfully. Quickly would be nice too. Thanks for any suggestion, advice, and help.

Ok..I just realized I was adding "answers" and not "comments". Thanks to one of you sharing that tip to me. However, when I go to " Add comment: , pick :Viewable by all users: and hit:"submit" nothing happens at all. Not sure what I am doing wrong so I got to write you all back with an Answer again...hmmm

Well I just wanted to say thank you for all of your input here. You all are amazing. It's clear that some people vote on calorie counting while other do not.Yesterday I ended up with 1600 calories. Today I will see where I go. I know when I do cut calories I usually lose weight but I've never done Paleo that offers different direction generally and that's not counting.

At this point, I will keep you all posted and see what happens. Today I did crossfit and ate afterwards, breakfast, with mushrooms, yellow peppers, spinach, two eggs and a little hot sauce. I cooked it up in coconut oil. Also slipped some CO in my coffee too...Not hungry at this point and that's all good. I do need to work on drinking more water though...well, I sure hope this Paleo thing does the trick!! I am so ready for change!! Thanks again.

I lost 90lbs in 10 months restricting calories... I ate lots of chicken, olive oil, fruit, salmon, and salads. 3 years later I have gained 5 lbs in muscle which puts me at 160

I lost 18-20 lbs within 60 days. Going onto Paleo was not my desire, but after coming to terms with the pain in my right Shoulder put a scare to me. I had cut out all Grains,Legumes, changed over to fruits, vegetables, proteins. My pain reduced significantly, energy levels increased and was back in the gym running 3 miles every other day. I share all the good about this life change with my loved ones. best regards.

I agree with everything @samc mentioned above. Everyone's journey is going to be unique, but by reading testimonies, you're going to notice some trends.

If you'd like to read my journey into "paleo" eating, you can read my blog post here...http://mrmirek.blogspot.com/2013/02/progress.html

I think there are some great resources out there, but the trick is not to get bogged down in all of what people suggest. Find one perspective that you like and trust, then start following through on a plan. Over time, if something is not working completely, be flexible and change it up.

Enjoy the journey @tinacristina, and we'd all love to hear how things go for you.

70+ pounds over 2 years. Slow is better as you have more of a chance of keeping it off - at least in my case. Previously had lost a lot of weight fast when I was younger but it came back.

Don't rush it, don't use the scale often. I didn't use my scale for the first six months and then I only use it once a month. Better gauge is mirror and clothing size.

I do light simple weight lifting once/twice a week, daily walk 1-2 miles and 2x week Tabata sprints. After a year I started doing Intermittent fasting 16 hours with an 8 hour window for eating.

No cheat meals or days for me, I try to stay 99% Paleo/Primal if not 100%.
