Anyone gain weight at first on HF?

Just wanted to see if I was alone here...When I started high fat, low carb I was actuallya bit bloated and heavy feeling for the first two weeks. I stuck with it, and now...vamoos! I have lost 3lbs in a week and have the best six pack I have ever had. The best part, I'm not hungry, I feel fantastic, and I don't even miss the fruit. My theory is that it took a bit for my body to become fat adjusted, and once that happened it stopped trying to hang on to the few carbs it got. Thoughts?

I've noticed people report this from time to time, and very often they were calorie restricting before they went to HFLC, or had an eating disorder in their history. I don't know if that applies to you, or why that would be, but I thought I'd mention it, because it's interesting to me.

Thank you for posting this, I too have been bloated and heavy feeling and my clothes are not fitting. I was scared that going high fat low carb was not right for my body. It has been about 10 days now and I was almost ready to give up. I will stick with it, and see if things change. Even though I feel heavy and bloated I feel better overall, so that was very confusing for me. Looking forward to losing this stubborn 10lbs of baby fat that I gained after weaing from breastfeeding.

I lost all the bloating but gained wt the 9 mths I've been doing this. I went HFLC 1/1/11 but after going from 139 to 143 I think I need to cut back the fat, drastically! I feel much better otherwise and I have lost inches everywhere but I'm stalled now.

My companion also went through a phase of weight-gain at the beginning. I was so big to start with that I probably wouldn't have noticed if I had -- but it took her some work to stick with it, because she was afraid during that first weigh-in where she'd bloated and actually put on a couple of pounds... Then, she lost 3 lbs in one week, and has been steadily improving her fat/muscle ratio ever since.
