another annoying weightloss question

Ok so i have been paleo for three months now and I am so happy because my IBS symptoms went away however, I have lost no weight. I am becoming very frustrated In the past year I have gained 30 lbs I was anxious to loose it and I thought going paleo would help me, I don't eat any dairy, grains, sugar, beans, alcohol, and I have cut back my fruit intake. I eat nuts occasionally!

I swim for 45 minutes 7 days a week and I have been doing weight lifting, I even added additional exercise classes sometimes I take zumba or kickboxing just to give my workout routine some variety i wouldn't care about not loosing weight if I was loosing fat and building muscles but not even my clothes seem to fit better!

what am I doing wrong, any suggestions?

True. Without knowing what, when, and how much you are eating, it is hard to give you an accurate suggestion.

Could be any number of things from adrenal fatigue or cortisol issues, eating too little calories, eating too much, too few carbs, food intolerances, etc. Can you post what you eat on a typical day?

its time for leangains since your already lean and must be going for that 6 pack look. Look no further than Martin B at leangains.com for information.

Hey. Would you mind just giving an example of a typical day of meals/snacks? It would be easier to answer given that information.

You don't look overweight in your photo. Paleo is not a weight loss diet. If someone ate terribly and is very overweight, then yes they loose weight but if you are at a healthy weight???and didn't eat terribly before Paleo, you're probably not going to lose a ton of weight.

List a day of eating, proportions as well as what food and when and people can better help you if the goal is weight loss.

Have you taken into account that you may be excercising too much? You may be over taxing your body and not giving yourself enough heal time. Not at a bad weight at all but if you're looking to lose weight you won't be doing it by wearing your adrenals and shooting up your cortisol levels. I'd say take a step back on the excercise.

Have you tried IF? Having a smaller eating window can reduce your calorie consumption naturally without excessive hunger. Or try lowering your carb intake. If all else fails, count calories. It sucks and you shouldn't have to deliberately do it but that's what required for some people.

And keep doing resistance training. You'll mitigate any significant muscle mass loss when your start losing weight.

Also, the word is "losing", not "loosing".

Have you ruled out low thyroid?

If you are not over-eating and you are exercising, as you say, and you cannot lose weight then I recommend you make sure your Thyroid is functioning properly.

Many people have lab values that in the reference range but on the low end and when that is coupled with symptoms of hypo-thyroid, then treatment is often necessary.

This is a great website: Stop The Thyroid Madness www.stopthethyroidmadness.com

Can you tell me what you eat on an average day? It's not magic, if you eat more calories than the ones you burn, you will not lose weight. Try implementing HIIT and more weight lifting, if you want to gain muscle mass. And remember, the Paleo/Primal lifestyle is mainly focused on an overall health improvement and not just weight management.

Good luck and keep on keeping on
