Well I've been taking in about 70-100 g protein/day and I thought that carbs combined with protein stimulate muscle growth. At least I can see and feel more muscle on me.

nuts are far more calorie dense than fruit. take the nuts out, keep the fruit. it's VLC mythos that fruit will magically prevent fat loss. energy balance will always rule, even if people are too stupid to believe it.
