Weight Gain Since Adding Slight Carbs

For a few months I was eating almost zero carb (i.e. only meat and fat). The only vegetables I ate were simple pickled condiments. Now that I'm eating more of a GAPS Diet I have been eating more steamed vegetables and soups and have found that I put on fifteen pounds over four months. I was surprised that eating just a bit more vegetables while still low carb would cause this much weight gain. I don't even eat starchy vegetables, just low-carb ones.

I try to work out daily, I either take an hour walk or do body weight exercises (pushups, squats, sit-ups), but it doesn't seem to be helping much. I don't run anymore due to problems with Lyme Disease and an inability to tolerate aerobic exercise.

Perhaps I need to get to a gym to implement a more intense weight lifting regiment. Any thoughts?

I honestly feel that I eat too much fat, and considering the fact that fat is three times the caloric level of protein (if I remember correctly), it makes sense that it would eventually catch up on me.

You got fat because you ate too many calories, it had nothing to do with your vegetable intake.

What exactly do you eat? Exercise is not a good primary weight loss tool.

Down voted? Seems like an honest question to me.

Do you feel that you look fat? Scale weight isn't a good way of measuring fat gain. I can drink a gallon of water before bed, gain 8 lbs but then wake up 4lbs lighter. Doesn't mean I got fatter. Yes, lifting weights is the most direct route IMO if your goal is to lean out or gain muscle.
