So I know that all grains contain anti nutrients, but so do nuts, seeds, dark chocolate, and even vegetables. I also have some white rice. Are any of these or any other gluten free grains ok for wieght gain paleo

Some people here have recommended oatmeal also, ForeverYoung did back in the day when he frequented these forums.

I'm a fan of beans and rice. It really fills me up nicely, like I feel satiated afterwards which can be hard to do when you have a crazy fast metabolism like mine. Also, those are both gluten free, if that means anything for your gut.

The key to weight gain is to eat a lot of food, and do not try to work out too much. If you are going for mass (hypertrophy, keep your reps between a high of 12 and a low of 4, with a target of 6 to 8 for failure. Take rests between sets, and work out no more than about 3 times per week. Focus on compound exercises.

Then with diet, sure, eat some white rice, eat a variety of nuts as they are calorie dense. Eat fatty meats, and throw in some veggies as well. Buckwheat is another pseudo-grain you might want to look at, or quinoa, both are gluten free, lower glycemic, and moderate protein.

Another question, I have some white coloured rice in a mason jar, but I'm not sure if its regular white rice or if its basmati white rice. Is white basmati rice just as harmless as regular white rice or does it contain anti nutrients just like regular brown rice. And does brown basmati rice look distinctly different than the white basmati, just to make sure the rice I'm eating is fine
