Supplements - all at once or spread? Also, which one is making me horny??

I have been taking vitamin D3 and zinc just after breakfast. Lately, I've added vitamin C, K2 and sea kelp. Is it better to take some with lunch and some with dinner, or all at once?

Since adding sea kelp, vitamin C and K2, my libido has rocketed - which one will be responsible for this? I'm not complaining - it's like going back 30 years! Does this indicate that my overall health will have improved and also gone back 30 years?

FYI there are a few studies about zinc affecting sperm motility, so while it might increase libido, it won't necessarily affect the chances of pregnancy. (http://molehr.oxfordjournals.org/content/5/4/338.full)

I do D3 and K2 together with a fatty meal, zinc on an empty stomach so it doesn't interfere with copper absorption (although this may make you queasy), and vitamin C away from meals because glucose interferes with vit C absorption and vit C increases iron absorption (chances are you don't want increased iron absorption).

I believe it may be the Zinc-a-rink-a-dink-dink.

Couldn't it be the zinc? It's the only one that makes me horny. Or it may be the kelp, I won't try it as long as I'm not 100% sure I don't have hashimoto's.

Well, gee, you should really read the most recent Free The Animal blog posting by Richard Nikoley - may shed some light. Based on his report, the answer would be: K2. And I suspect alot of people are going to start buying K2 supplements :)

As long as you aren't taking minerals that are competing with each other I doubt that there would be any harm in taking them all at once, I know I'm a lot more likely to remember to take my breakfast supplements than my afternoon or bedtime ones. A while back someone posted a nice chart that showed which minerals can block each other (Mulder's Chart) :http://paleohacks.com/questions/58984/what-vitamins-minerals-need-to-be-balanced#axzz1kYLGb013

From personal experience (that I will not go into detail about here) with adjusting my hubby's supplements when we were trying to conceive, I'd place my bet on the zinc making you horny.

Basically says that FCLO/HVBO is the shit and shamelessly promotes it like a bunch of other blogs and authors all do. Personally I don't buy into it, I don't think it's nowhere near as good as they say it is. The Green Pastures brand has some clever marketing tactics, that's about it.

Just eat sardines/salmon, slap some Ghee on your food and supplement with various forms of K2, like Life Extension and you'll be better off.

Edit: I'd like to add that the Life Extension K2 combo has a pretty solid dose of K2. That might not necessarily be a good thing. More is not always better!
