I have been wondering lately, because that's what everyone always told me every time that I wanted to eat an orange after sunset; that it's pointless and that it needs to be daytime for the body to absorb vitamin C. I don't know how they all got this idea, but apparently my mother read it somewhere. Google isn't helping me :P So does anyone know if it's true?

I don't think it matters what time of day you eat the orange I think the body absorbs vitamin C regardless of the time of day

Mothers can be SUCH a mixed blessing. Mine told me not to swallow gum or one day I'd fart, blow a big bubble out my ass, and fly away.
I have never heard that about Vitamin C. No, I don't think it's true. Regardless, eat the orange.
