Vibram Sprint Heel Problems: Should I get a smaller size?

I just got my first pair of Vibrams and there is roughly an inch of room in the heel. It is driving me nuts. My toes fit well, there is no space in the toe. I pulled the heel straps back all the way but that did nothing. I ordered Mens 44, maybe I should have gotten a 43? I wear a 11.5 in Nike if that helps. When I measured my foot it was 11 inches long.

I would suggest getting a smaller size. There shouldn't be that much space in the back. Are you near a retailer that sells them? Go in and have some one fit you or talk to you about how they should fit.

I agree with Neil, some models fit differently than others. I've worn the KSO, sprint and original models and found that the KSO were super loose, the sprint fit tightly, and the originals are perfect; all in women's 39s. I suggest finding a retailer near you and trying them all on, not practical, but the best way to find a comfy pair!

Sounds like you might have long toes for the size of your foot :/

I'd try to find a pair that fits better. I've found the Speed model (with laces) fits much more snugly because it pull around your foot more evenly. The single-strap version isn't nearly as form fitting.

Vibrams go by cm. Measure your foot in cm and order accordingly. Don't just assume they will fit. Shoes run different sizes depending on their "standard". Merrell's run a 1/2 size big compared to some brands, as does Nike compared to some cheaper brands.
