Pescetarian, Pro-Vegetarian Paleo Menu- Am I doing this right?

I would deeply appreciate anyone hold back their anti-vegetarian views on this one:) I'd love any helpful answers! Thank you in advance!

I just want to know if a 30 year old woman, 5'7, 150lbs, can get fat loss results with:

Breakfast: -3 whole fried pasteurized eggs -kale salad with annie's green goddess dressing -black coffee

Snacks: -almonds

Lunch: -gigantic salad with annie's green goddess dressing -1 avocado -1 tofurky sausage (27g protein)

Snacks: -spoonful of raw peanut butter

Dinner: -Grilled tuna steak -incredible amount of Brussels Sprouts.

or -pea/artichoke protein shake (35 g protein) with big salad.

I'm coming from the 4HB diet, and trying to adopt a Paleo type lifestyle and learn more about it. I know Mark's wife from Daily Apple is a pescetarian, so it is possible. I am just unsure on the levels I should shoot for, and if there are any major red flags in my repeat meals. Some days, I feel like I can have 3 eggs for every meal!

Get rid of the tofurky and any other soy/fake meat stuff, soy is not good for you and all those fake meat products are full of crappy filler ingredient as well as soy.

Great thanks! I'm going to ditch the peanut butter, switch my oil to coconut, and make my own dressing!

I was thinking she wanted the high protein, but you are right. You don't need protein at every meal.

Lunch would be improved with a homemade egg/dairy based dressing. Or just nuts/cheese in lieu of the tofurkey. You don't need *that* much protein.

Ooh, yes! I missed the peas. Good catch. I never ate the nasty little things, so I didn't think about them.

make peanut butter almond butter. make your own dressing (almost all store dressing uses rancid oils).

You will most likely see weight loss results with this eating plan, but it is not very "Paleo".

I don't know much about the dressing, but you may want to check the sugar content. Many processed foods have a lot of added sugar.

I would watch the almond consumption, if it is more than a serving (1/4 cup) than they can affect weight loss. If you need more of a snack I would find something better.

The fake meat is never a good choice. It's full of all kinds of non-food stuff. Find a protein you can handle here, even if it's just a can of tuna.

Switch the peanut butter for almond butter or coconut butter. Most Paleos do not eat peanuts, they are a legume, not a nut.

Protein shakes are generally not considered great for nutrition. Drinking your calories gives your body different signals. They tend to have added ingredients you don't need.

I would add more fat in the form of coconut oil or real butter. I would also try to eat some oily fish like sardines on/in one of those salads. Make yourself a homemade caesar dressing substitute!

Overall, it's not a complete failure, but you could certainly use some tweaking.

Here's a link to an "Ask Carrie" page where she gives a couple of days worth of sample meal plans as well as a nutritional breakdown for each day...since she's pescatarian lacto paleo, I thought this would be helpful to you... http://www.marksdailyapple.com/dear-carrie-reader-question-roundup/

Peas (in your protein powder) are also legumes. Since you eat eggs as well as fish (i.e. not a vegetarian, but an ovo-pescetarian if you want to label yourself), you could look for egg or hemp-based protein powders, although real food is preferred over powders if you want to eat a paleo diet.

Legumes & soy products were big stallers for me. I'd ditch the PB, pea-protein & tofurky and focus on real food.
