He wont admit of eating meat ,he says he eats only this and uses creatine sometimes

any suggestions what he is doing ? heck , even the Bushmen know about more than 200 plants and still eat meat

he says it's hard work for about 35 years, with 30 years of veganism

i must know whats the deal...

So would most of those athletes. It's not until after that they realize, in hind-sight, they were not.

I honestly don't think primitive man could pull off a vegan diet, especially if they were highly active and had bulky muscles. Yeah, there's a reason and it still exists today. However, modern industrial society can provide sufficient nutrients to survive and even thrive without meat. It's just not optimal.

Hard to predict how much meat was eaten. Doing the beans/legumes rice diet will struggle to give a fit person enough calories.

I don't think the diet is lacking in calories. I'd guess 4000 per day to maintain that look.

What an unfortunate idiom to use (skin a cat), click through some of his other pictures… he's like a cat lady (cats, cats, everywhere).

10 lbs of beans is probably about right for fresh. Ancient humans had fresh for about a month a year. The whole reason for grains is eating them dry. This is a tricked out diet designed to win beauty contests.

Because without technology and modern agriculture, it's impossible to be a vegan and remain healthy.

Doesnt it interfere with the fact that humans never consumed only vegs-nutrition ?Maybe they had a reason for not doing so and it still exists untill today for the human specie? (even in empires in the border of asia-russia ,india, etc)

If you think eating healthy is a requirement to be an elite athlete, you are fooling yourself. There are hundreds of SAD elite athletes, there are several NFL players who are vegan -- But their diet did not make them elite -- genetics (and a shit-ton of hard work) made them elite.

In fact, I could argue that the Paleo diet is a bad diet for elite athletes. The high level of satiety in paleo foods, coupled with the lower carbohydrate intake would make serving the energy demands of an elite athlete difficult.

Elite athletes are striving for peak performance -- not optimal health. Those goals are rarely complimentary goals.

He's in that shape in spite being a vegan, not because of it. That level of fitness has relatively little to do with diet.

Why do you care about there being some sort of 'paleo rebuttal'...? To me you also seem to be implying there is some sort of stitch up happening here... Why?

It's not like people cannot get shredded, be very fit when not eating 'paleo'.... There are many ways to skin those cats for those wanting to do so...

Pretty good diet. I would have trouble meeting my calorie needs on it personally. And the preperation might be a bit of a hassle. If he supplements b12 and eats enough calories I predict he'll have amazing long term health.

He gets plenty of protein from his vegan diet.. and loads of carbs to fuel insane workouts. Most right-minded paleos wouldn't work out that much. I'm just assuming, of course, that he spends a huge chunk of his life pumping iron and running/cardio.

There's no magic. I don't see any bread or processed foods on his table. It's actually pretty paleo, though strict veganism would have been a tough life in the paleolithic. The question is why would you do that? Do you like meat? Do you feel better if you eat 10 lbs of beans, rice, and fruit each day? I'd feel like crap but maybe it works for him.
