My last bloodtest: Uric acid question

On my latest blood test, my uric acid shot up to 8.6 from a usual 5 over the years. Can anyone comment this? I've been Paleo for over 3 years now. No physical symptoms, but it seems out of whack. thanks

Cumulative effect? I have no idea. Not a gout expert.

Neighbor (male ~50, asian/caucasian barely a bit overweight ~10 pounds at 195) has gout. Loves his vodka and he drinks a fair amount of concentrated cherry (was told cheery juice good for gout)

The stuff I've read suggests alcohol and fructose are implicated more than meat. YMMV

A fair amount of meat? 8 oz of beef per day? 16 oz? Portion of calories from red meat protein? imo... it's all about the numbers. cheers

No abrupt changes, I think. I do eat a lot of meat, which supposedly will raise uric acid levels. Is it catching up with me?

Recent or coincident dietary or exercise change? Drinking or partying the night before the test? I know that drinking 5 glasses of red wine at night will "confuse" a blood sugar meter 8 hours later.

If there's no trend over multiple tests, I'd be weary of concluding anything prematurely.
