Hi Chris,
Like you I've had health issues that doctors could not properly diagonose. After listening to your podcasts and reading your books I recently learned to heal my ailments by rebuilding my gut micro-biome and following a paleo diet. My father is in his earlly 70's and suffers from type 2 diabetes, along with a myriad of other issues (hypertension, high blood pressure, etc.). Currently he manages his ailments with prescriptions prescribed by his doctor but lately his condition has worsened with constant pain in his kidneys, discoloration of his legs, difficulty breathing, memory loss, and severe post nasal drip. My question is can a healthy gut with the use of probiotics along with a paleo diet help cure or lesson his symptoms?

Thank you,

Check out this small study: http://link.springer.com/article/10.1007%2Fs00125-007-0716-y

Participants reversed diabetes on a diet with mainly lean meat, fruits and vegetables (small amounts of potatoes and eggs), no restriction in calories or food items but they ended up eating average just 1350 kcal due to satiety (90 gm protein, 42 gm fats, 134 gm carbohydrates).
