stop living in the past people...do what works in 2013...if coke (the mexican kind w/ real sugar not HFCS) works for raising your body temperature and metabolism then DO IT....stop fighting your sugar craving, it's there for a reason....enough w/ the "our ancestors" b.s. its ridiculous...and dairy is the tits! now put down rob wolfe's calcium supplements and get real! did our ancestors take 10+ supplements i-dont-hee-ho

Also, you say screw our ancestors as a guide to health to support your view on diet, but then you go right ahead and use our ancestors lack of supplements to support your view on dietary supplementation (or lack there of). Logical inconsistencies aren't helping your case. z

If that's you're argument, protein has a higher thermic effect than carbs. But, I agree paleo is full of phonies and people are stupid.

Technology and science can help us advance as a species, and we do live in 2013. But it doesn't mean that technology and science can't be wrong... They have been wrong many, many times, in many, many fields. "Paleo" and its many derivatives seek to help people realize some key features of their diet that might be doing more harm than good. Like gluten. I hate gluten and many people should attempt to eliminate it for 6 months to see how they feel, and to see if they lose weight. There is too much anecdotal evidence not to support that idea.

Also, stop making excuses to drink coke. You could eat an apple and get more sugar, and at least some trace vitamins.
