Correct, estrogen can be the culprit as well. If you're eating low carb Paleo, your Trigs should be under 100.

The best explanation is the estrogen supplementation.

The best explanation is you didn't fast before the test. The 2nd best explanation is that you are recovering from some sort of pre-existing liver derangement. How were your trigs before? Retesting is the best way of clearing thi sup.

Can you explain the weight loss comment? I've read that before and don't know what it means. Links are welcome. Thanks.

Hi Anne, what a coincidence. I just got mine done yesterday through my work. They gave us all a booklet and there was a quick reference guide that you might find useful. I have heard that the averages for 'health' vary by region, but I don't know if that is a fact. If it is, then these would be for Texas.

So according to this your total cholesterol is over the ideal as are your triglycerides, your HDL looks good, and your LDL seems to be good.

As a woman you'll hopefully find this informative as well. Cholesterol it seems is affected by hormone levels so we have different ranges and issues depending on whether we're still menstruating or not.

Your cholesterol numbers are fine. As for triglycerides, are you eating a lot of carbs, fructose, alcohol or losing weight?
