I made a smoothie and I was going to put vannila extract in but I accidentally put in almond extract made with bitter almond oil, I realized it was almond extract and got most of it out with a spoon before I blended it but there was still a bit in there. I've heard before that its toxic, is that true

Are you dead yet? No, then stop freaking out about nothing (or get some help with the OCD).

@axialgentlmen... I got almond extract that has bitter almond oil with water and glycerin. I got it because it was the only almond extract that didn't have propylene glycol so I thought it was less artificial but after doing some research learned that bitter almond oil is toxic and sometimes lethal in doses even as small as 7.5 ml.

Almond extract and almond oil are totally different things. And bitter almond oil is yet another different thing.

Almond extract, as used for baking, is toxic? How the heck?

You should probably not take the advice of random internet strangers on this one. Either search google for a reliable source or call poison control. And I'd suggest being conservative here. That is, if some reasonable sounding sources say it's poisonous and others say it's not, don't eat it.
