for those of you on a budget...

I went to the grocery store this morning and asked whether they had any fresh turkey left. They did, but it was in the back, already taken off the racks. They sold me the turkey at 65% off! For those of you on a pretty hard budget (like me), go buy some turkeys! I bought 3 of them, put 2 in the freezer and one in the fridge to make tomorrow.

Was everyone able to stick to their diets yesterday? I was thrown off by some cake for dessert but ate mostly white rice, turkey, sweet potatoes, and spinach for lunch. I was lucky to have some reasonably healthy options and loaded up on those enough that no one questioned the missing stuffing and rolls on my plate. Happy THanksgiving all!

I follow the 80/20 principle, yesterday was entirely in the 20% column.

And to save money for the next couple days, I'll be eating non-paleo Thanksgiving leftovers. :)

I cooked the entire meal, so everyone stayed Primal and didn't miss a single thing. We tried making cranberry sauce with only fresh-squeezed orange juice and fresh apple juice, but that was NASTY and only edible after adding some honey.

Your turkey was an excellent find. Congrats!

Pay attention to expiration dates in the meat dept. especially helpful for expensive grass-fed meats. The day before they expire... sale! Stock up on about-to-spoil meats and throw them straight in the freezer...

First paleo TG for me. Didn't miss a thing! PaleOMG bacon sweet potato biscuits were over the top amazing. I'm surprised the turkey is on sale. Where I am the price stays the same all the way till Christmas. I bought 5 turkeys this year, as per usual for the freezer. And Im feeling like I actually need to go buy more. I've grown to love turkey so much! Really love the stock!
