Tooth appearing?

Okay so I'm three weeks into Paleo, and one of my teeth which has laid dormant for 9 years has decided to (slowly) pop up. I had the baby tooth taken out when I was 12, and I've had to have a metal band around two of my molars to keep the gap open since then.

My last xrays show that the tooth in the gum is on a wonky angle and the dentist said it'll correct itself in time and come out of the gum to its rightful place. I'm now 20, and it only starting popping up last week, but only a little bit, but I can feel it.

Is this a coincidence, all because I've cut out diary/grains/sugar out? I'm going to the dentist next week to get it checked out and hopefully the band may be removed. I'm sorry if its a ridicolous question.

Same thing happened to me. I had a wisdom tooth sitting under the gumline for over a decade suddenly start to grow out around age 30, unrelated to any change in health or diet. My dentist says it happens from time to time.

It has nothing to do with Paleo. I had the same thing, except for it happened around 22 years old. I was very SAD then.

I doubt it, but it's going to come in bloody useful for all the meat you're going to be eating.

I agree it is most likely coincidental but there really is no way to know positively. I have seen that happen in some of my patients in their 30's.

What John said, but I have seen people with newly erupting teeth who are in their fifties and sixties. Teeth don't read textbooks!
