Caribbean survival?

I have not been on holiday for almost three years and so started looking around for ideas.

Just spotted this!

http://www.docastaway.com/pages/adventure-cottages-huts/caribbean/caribbean-survival/caribbean-survival-main

Interesting Information: Docastawayers will learn different survival techniques and at the same time they will enjoy the virgin surroundings and gorgeous beaches of the Caribbean.

Meals: During the first learning days, the docastawayers will be helped to forage for their own. On the last day and once they are alone on the another desert island, the ???students??? will have to get their own food putting into practice all they have learnt during previous days.

Activities: Besides the evasion options the place offers, the professional guides will teach docastawayers:

  • getting water from nature
  • hunting or fishing
  • preparing the food
  • starting a fire without a lighter or matches
  • making improvised shelters
  • other survival methods on deserted islands

Sounds like fun, and a great way to lose a little extra weight. The folks on Survivor leaned out a ton on those islands. Wouldn't go if I were out of shape and had a lot of extra pounds though. Would be bad to keel over far away from a hospital...

When they say survival, they MEAN surviving them. :)

This looks super cool! I'm a little troubled by all the spelling mistakes on the website. It makes me wonder how much effort they have put into making the experience what they say it will be like if they can't even get the spelling on the website correct.

I wouldn't call this a holiday but rather an adventure! At your age and fitness level it will probably be enjoyable, and you will have something to talk about for a long time afterwards. The scenery and weather should be wonderful and there is most likely an abundance of accessible food in the ocean and land areas. And you may experience IF in its natural form!
