Supplements tasting like candy?

Does the taste of supplements mean anything? Magnesium and vitamin k2 taste like candy to me, calcium tastes great too. I know that, if I don't take magnesium, I wake up and get skin issues. The day I started supplementing k2, my mother said I looked better than I ever did.
Zinc first tasted like candy, now it tastes really weird. It used to help, now it does nothing.
Chromium tastes normal, nothing special, and does nothing special to me.
Selenium tastes awesome and helps me tremendously too.

All of the supplements I tried only contained magnesium stearate or cellulose or other hypo-allergenic stuff. So could the taste of supplements indicate whether you need it or not? There is really a strong correlation in my experiments ...
