Within the past few weeks, I have started a (mostly) Paleo diet. I've eliminated milk, dairy, gluten. Soy somehow still sneaks in once in a while. My reason for changing to this diet is mostly due to gut issues and acne. I have recently come of hormonal birth control because my acne was getting so bad. For the past 6 months I've been researching supplements that help with acne and balancing hormones. Here is a list of what I'm currently taking:
More than a Multiple multivitamin (AM only, even though it says to take 3x - I don't think that's necessary)
Pro-15 probiotic (AM)
DIM (hormone health, AM)
Vitex (hormone health, 3x daily, recently started)
N-A-C (liver support, 2x daily)
Sundown Stress Relief (AM only, mixture of calming herbs)
Zinc (acne, afternoon)
Selenium (acne, afternoon)
Whew! It's a lot, but I feel since coming off the pill and adding these in and going (mostly) paleo, my skin has started to improve somewhat (slowly but surely). I do still have acne on my forehead and along jawline (due to hormone imbalance from what I've read).
I'm a little hesitant about taking all these and will definitely start eliminating some of them once my acne calms down. Is this dangerous to my body to be taking these every day? I honestly feel better overall and am a pretty healthy 25 year old for the most part.
