krill oil is expensive!

Answered on August 19, 2014

Could someone recommend a good-quality reasonably-priced brand of krill oil for someone who doesn't eat fish? I've been researching different brands and reading up on krill vs. fish oil vs. FCLO all morning and making myself crazy. What do you guys take?

Let me know how it works if you decide to try it. I believe there is a reasonable price on Amazon.

Jarrow's is a great brand. I use the 5-HTP and CoQ10. Reasonably priced... I'll check out the krill...

"Krill Oil vs Fish Oil" first Google result. Looks compelling. I've been using both for awhile now, switch back & forth day to day.

Fair enough. Price seems reasonable. It is a 45-day supply though.

Michael Eades wrote about it, he thinks krill is superior: http://www.proteinpower.com/drmike/inflammation/why-krill-oil/ Mark Sisson isn't convinced it's better than fish oil: http://www.marksdailyapple.com/krill-oil/

In such a small quantity, I don't worry about it. You'll get more sorbitol by eating an apple.

Let me guess, the krill oil salesman says it's better... haven't seen anybody else getting too exited about it. Googling 'krill oil paleo' doesn't show much positive about it, except PaleoHacks questions... hrm...

I take both krill & fish oil. I take Nordic Naturals fish oil and VitaCost krill oil.

Is the sorbitol something I should be trying to avoid?

From everything I've read, it seems most efficient. Feel free to convince me otherwise.

Ok, you don't eat fish, fine. But why krill over fish oil?

Jarrow Formula's. This is what Dave at bulletproof exec recommends, and I can honestly say it is one of the first fish oil's I've taken that has had a noticeable effect.

Personally I don't mind spending the money if it is a quality product. Are you looking for the astaxanthin in the Krill?

I bought this kind: http://www.naturalbiology.com/arctic_krill_oil_p/krilloil.htm

It has 1000 mg per serving and it includes astaxanthin (very good for you)
