Increased libido from zinc -> more testosterone?

Whenever I'm taking a zinc supplement, I have a noticeably heightened libido (I'm a guy btw).

Does this indicate that the zinc is increasing my testosterone production due to a zinc deficiency?

Or is there another reason why zinc would cause an increased sex drive?

And make sure you are getting copper in your diet as well. Your copper to zinc ratio is important.

I have noticed the exact same thing. It does raise libido and some testosterone too. But It shouldnt be too intense unless you are over doing it (imo)

There are supplements such as ZMA that are sold for the purpose of raising testosterone. They're simply zinc and magnesium aspertates with some B6. They do seem to work, as does Maca, from personal experience, although things such as tribulus terrestris and longjack work a lot better as they tend to signal testosterone production directly rather than just providing the raw material needed.

Could be related to your prolactin levels. Zinc and B6 reduce it.

Possible. As another train of thought, ejaculation is a good way to get rid of excess zinc, so it might a mechanism of clearing it from the body.
