Have any Type 1 Diabetics tried using Gymnema Sylvestre to lower their blood sugar? What was the initial reaction? How much were you able to lower your blood sugar and insulin dosages by?

I just started using it recently, chewing the dryer leaves, and it is definitely bringing my b/s down noticeably. I have turned my basals down and most nights I don't even have to bolus for dinner (I eat very low carb and moderate protein, and eat only one meal a day). I wish I could give you exact numbers, but I've only been using it for a week and I'm pretty busy w other stuff so I haven't been keeping great records.

Aside from blood sugar, other benefits are a decrease in appetite and sugar cravings, which are both pronounced. I've also lost 8 pounds in 8 days since starting it, though I think my loss is slowing (good, I guess, bc I was starting to worry).

And, yes, I'm a type I.
