Confused about proper supplements for adrenal/chronic fatigue

I have recently went through dozens of different articles and posts on certain health forums and I am trying to put in order all the information. On one hand, many people say that maca helped them a lot and since it is an adaptogen it doesn't work as a stimulant and body eventually will return to its original equilibrum. But then on the other hand Dr Lam on his page says that in the long run it will actually make the body dependent on this substance and with time the tolerance will build up making the whole situation worse and definitely further away from the final recovery. Similar situation is with Vitamin B5.

I would like to make my healing as natural as possible without using any supplements if they aren't necessary, but then I know that sometimes it is necessary to provide your body with some additional support except for proper nutrition ( I am also fully paleo except on some occasions ).

Perhaps there are some people who used either vitamin B5 or maca with success and after some time they could stop using it without getting back to the fatigue state?

Thank you in advance for any help.
