Are Supplements Necessary to fight Illness?

I think fatigue, mood, and energy is a large problem that most of us deal with. It gets in the way of what we want to do. I think supplements may keep these problems going for those who are strict paleo. I'm self-experimenting an going to go off adrenal support to see what happens. Anyone else out there try being all natural to fix their problems?

Somethign called adrenal assist, and another called adrenal complex.

Well thanks for the responses. I'm going to be testing and seeing how the supports go. This is off topic, but I've been reducing fruit a lot b/c most paleo enthusiasts support this, but I think I haven't been getting enough sugar lately, and I already notice that I get very jumpy and aggressive when I avoid fruits for a couple of days.

p.s. you can't compare taking supplements or really, any other protocol to quitting gluten. if one is intolerant, it's kind of like poison. it's like you're saying "i felt so much better after i stopped eating arsenic, nothing else i do will be worthwhile."

i'm assuming you've been sticking to the diet regardless, since you're such an adamant advocate. if you were feeling so great, i have to wonder why you started taking the supps in the first place. if you weren't feeling so great, i still don't think you have anything to lose by sticking with it a while.

This is what you said, "Take your adrenal stuff, keep eating right, and see how it goes." I've heard that for the past three years of my life. I can't afford to waste any more time, giving things time, when going Paleo worked so well and so quickely.

It's not a cure all, but it has proven better than anything else. I felt better before taking the adrenals. It took three days to feel amazingly better simply going gluten free for 3 days. It's been over a week on adrenals and if anything I feel worse. I'm done wasting time trying stuff out when less it truelly more

Rud, maybe you should stick with what your doc gave you for awhile. It takes time for things to work. I feel like you're here every other week complaining about feeling terrible/"it's not working" etc - meanwhile taking an almost religious approach to your interpretation of the paleo diet as some kind of end-all/cure-all. It's not. It can help many people re-learn to nourish themselves, but it's not magic, nor a cure-all, esp in the short-term. Just relax, chill into some consistency. Take your adrenal stuff, keep eating right, and see how it goes.
