Why inflammation in chest/back area?

I don't understand inflammation in my chest/back area. About a year ago, I was on a roof shoveling snow, and BAM, I started aching. I thought I pulled something, but as time went on, aching got worse. I went paleo, and aches started going away. Now it's like if I eat anything with gluten, and maybe salt/sugar(?), pains get worse. I it seems, when I don't eat that, they diminish. Why is this?

Am I celiac?

If I have inflammation, how did I all of a suddenly get it? Does it build up over years?

Could it be something else?

I'm curious what it is, and I was wondering if any of you had any insight to this condition?

Thanks.

That's interesting you mention that. I had pleuritis (pleurisy) once. Could have it returned?

Hi, Ben! I really think this is a personal matter that can't be safely diagnosed in this forum. I wish you well but I think you need to see a doctor; once you know what's going on it'll probably be great fodder for discussion.

You may have some underlying pleurisy. The associated inflammation may be triggered by the foods you mentioned.

I have found the same thing as you regarding inflammation after a sugar binge.

I have a chiropractor friend who says he can't prove it but he sees what he calls 'sugar injuries'. Many people with neck pains, etc. come to see him and it turns out they'd been to a birthday party the night before, or ate a bunch of cake, etc.
