Sugar Headaches?

After being paleo for a year and a bit, I have noticed that when I do have sugary stuff I get a headache in 20 mins or so. Any thoughts on why this might be? I have heard that low carb paleo can have some negative effects on the body's ability to metabolize sugars when ingested, could this be what's happening?

I definitely feel sugar, physically and mentally, whenever I eat it now. I don't see that as a negative effect. It's my body reminding me that I feel best when I avoid that stuff. And maybe that our bodies aren't really meant to be taking that stuff in. It would be like saying, "Wow, I used to really be able to tolerate being sick all the time but now when I'm sick it really bugs me - what's up with that?" and thinking it a drawback to feeling so good most of the time.
