Sinusitis and refines sugar?

HI everyone. I was just wondering if like many of other problems, sinusitis could be related to refines sugar.

I have been addicted to nasal spray for over 2 years, and now I finally broke it ( 6 months ago ) but Ultimately I'm having very painful sinusitis attacks, with a lot of mucus. I already took off of my diet cereals and gluten, but I'm still eating like 150g or more of 50% dark chocolate which contains refines sugar. Could it may be a relation? What are your advices? Today I was sinusitis free, Then I had my chocolate, and now I'm having a severe sinusitis pain.

Thanks for the support, you're such a lovely community

Thanks, I will try the sinugator, since part of it is environmental for sure (always gets better when I travel). I do a neti pot most nights.

Have you done sinus rinse? With water pik, neti pot or the best $20 a sinus sufferer could spend. I used that 3 times a day for months with saline solution and that combined with the new diet got rid of the inflammation. Can't tell you what to eliminate since I don't know what you eat. Could be anything, could be environmental as well.

Sam, this interests me because I improved a lot in the last six years but I have leveled and I consider this my biggest leftover health problem. I still take tsp of sugar in my espresso, I am currently wine-free, and I no longer drink beer. What else can I eliminate? Egg whites are probably next, but how long before I can conclude that this is really clearing my N&T? It is tough to go six months with bitter espresso.

Grains including wheat, bread, beer, sugar, etc. all kept me in constant sinus hell for 20 years. Within the first 6 months of giving them up I was 90% better and now 2 years later I don't get sinus infections and rarely any colds. My allergy problems are mostly gone and I am a nose breather once again.

My n=1 experience is that yes, sugar does affect my sinuses. After things got so bad that I was referred to a specialist for heavy, persistent nosebleeds, he recommended a neti pot. I was disgusted by the thought of it, and had it for two months before I used it. Now, I wouldn't be without it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AP0T09QpIfI

Could be a chocolate allergy....

I think @samc has mentioned sugar being problematic as mention.
