is sugar really the problem?

the government tells me sugar is bad and i will get diabetes so avoid sugar!!!!! forget the fact that everyone is consuming loads of PUFAs...i have to avoid sugar so i can tell myself i'm "healthy" and different from the typical SAD!!!!! my body tells me i need sugar but it's lying to me!!!! it doesn't know what is best for me!!! it wants me to continue to be sick so it tells me to eat sugar!!! OMG

our ancestors ate lots of fat and survived on ketones because they couldn't eat for days so that's the way our body operates best! our ancestors fermented foods as a means preservation when they didn't have access to fresh food so that's what we should do! let's keep living in the past!!!!!!!!!!!!!

our ancestors didn't consume dairy until recently despite it being an incredible source of calcium and other vitamins....let's not drink milk, but then we should take robb wolfe's calcium supplements!!!!!!!

let's follow a paleo diet because that's what our ancestors did...supplements? oh yea! i take about 15-20 supplements just like the cavemen did

spinach and kale taste like shit but let's tell ourselves it tastes good and we don't even have a rumen to digest it but we should eat it anyway!!!

and don't forget your fish oil (same thing as the inflammatory veg oils)

Big poppa, I read yours, now you read mine, it has to do with blood sugar levels and mood swings, I think it'll help you understand why eating a bunch of sugar might lead to these unnecessary outbursts and seeming frustration. http://familyfood.hiddenvalley.com/moodiness-children-sugar-1117.html . Also, I'd recommend a HIIT protocol but I know peat recommends against exercise.. So...

^ Wow some poor deluded soul actually took the time (and used the super special decoder ring) to decipher the convoluted "ray peat protocol". Well I don't know bout you, but that totally convinces me.

Sugar doesn't have to be eaten by itself so it's a food without nutrients. You could sugar from fruits which are nutrient dense.

In fact, if you want to really talk about this in depth I'd be happy to exchange opinions on the matter, I have a semi-spam email on my profile page, but if you tell me you're sending me a message I'll keep an eye out for it. I'm happy to discuss the matter.

No dude, I agree with a lot of what you said in your other thread, srs, and if you look at my questions you'll see I have several on oysters, in the featured area of PH right now. I think they're an exceptional food and I've ha a half pound-pound with breakfast each day for the last week or two. I also tend to agree with peat's opinions on gelatin and dairy. However sugar is nutritionally void and I think most people would be better off getting their carbs from something like potatoes. Not necessarily everyone, but for most people who tolerate carbs tubers seem like a solid source.
