How long do I do Paleo to feel a change?

I've been primal for about 6 weeks. I am now sleeping like a log, but aside from that there are no differences in my body. I don't feel any better or worse than when I was eating grains and sugar. Do I need to keep going to experience anything else?

for me, some things changed instantly almost, and some have taken months to see. not because they weren't there all along, but because i lived with the symptoms for so long, i didn't even realize it wasn't normal. some things (like joint pain) i didn't even realize i had until i ate some gluten yesterday and could barely walk last night, then i remembered how i always used to feel. keep at it, and remember that you might not see improvement now, but prevention is worth so much! you might be saving yourself from having to deal with a whole lot of garbage in the future.

It depends how sick you were before. I was very, very sick, so I felt my problems subduing in the first 48 hours, bigger changes in the first 4 days, and huge differences within the first month. 9 months down the line, I feel 10 years younger.

I must admit I didn't feel any difference. I lost my gluten educed IBS, but that was it.

However 6months on I'm down to 12%bf with no other change, I still drink and eat out...its all just a cleaner way :)

Yeah if you were already generally healthy and feeling good you may not really see a lot of difference. But you might see other improvements like in the health of your skin or hair, your endurance, your cognitive function, etc. It depends on what you're eating, though. It's not like if you just eat paleo foods then you're doing as well as you can.

I suspect that if you really focus on improving the nutritional quality of your diet, both essential and non-essential but beneficial nutrients, then you will see a noticeable improvement to another level. Also make sure you're eating enough. A lot of the time people go on a paleo diet and drastically reduce their caloric intake, and you can't exactly burn what you don't eat for energy.

I have been doing it for a week and feel great! Lost 7 lbs!
